Fr. Matthew Laird, a native of Mashpee, was assigned to St. Joseph’s in June of 2022. He is a graduate of the inaugural class of Saint John Paul II High School in Hyannis (2011) and studied biology at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester (2015). After college studies, he worked two summers as a lab technician at Associates of Cape Cod, a marine biology corporation in the Falmouth Technology Park.  Fr. Matt prepared for the priesthood at Saint John’s Seminary in Boston. He was ordained June of 2022 at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Fall River. Fr. Matt is a saxophone player and a member of Vatican III, an all priest jazz/funk quartet that has been playing together since 2013. His father, David, is a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Fall River.
